• How is HomeSpruce difference from other platforms?

  The HomeSpruce platform is built by professionals, for professionals. In addition to naming your own prices, you get 100% of the bid, rate your customers, and build a portfolio of completed work.

• Are there costs or fees?

  Signing up is free of charge. To bid on projects or communicate directly with homeowners, you must subscribe to HomeSpruce Pro, which costs $139 per year with a one-time fee of $35 for the background check. You also have the option of becoming a Certified or Premier Pro on the HomeSpruce platform. Click here to learn more. The payment is non-refundable annual fee.

• What are the benefits of paying for and completing the background check and providing insurance and license information?

  In your profile, customers can see whether you've been through a background check. The completion of this process may give customers additional peace of mind, help build credibility and trust, and increase their likelihood of accepting your bid. • What happens if I don’t pass the background check?

  Depending on the results of your background check, you may be ineligible to be a part of the platform. Depending on the situation, we will review it.

• Why does HomeSpruce ask for my bank account number?

  After a customer accepts your bid and pays you through the platform, the payment is deposited directly into your bank account. Data or records about bank accounts are not stored by HomeSpruce.

• How long does it take for the money to appear in my bank account after payment is disbursed?

  Payments are typically received within two to three business days, depending on the bank. It should be noted that the first transaction can take up to seven business days but will be much quicker on subsequent transactions.

• How do I get paid for completed work?

  The customer has two options for compensating you when accepting a bid: 1. Once the work has been completed, they can either pay with HomeSpruce's payment system or 2. Pay off the platform. To read about these options in more detail, please visit: https://blog.HomeSpruce.com/paymentoptions

• What if I feel the project requires an in-person estimate?

  Coordination between you and the customer is required for any in-person estimates. Once the project is complete, be sure to submit a bid on HomeSpruce so that the project gets added to your profile. It is more likely that you will be hired in the future if you complete more projects and receive favorable ratings/reviews. You can earn badges that appear on your profile once you've completed a certain number of projects on the platform. Customers can see how many projects you've completed on the platform. Plus, you get to rate and review your customer.

• Can my client apply for financing for their projects?

  With our help, you can stay focused on getting the job done. We are fluent in financing. You’re fluent in your industry. Our combined efforts lead to more yeses from customers. • How do I register as a professional?

  Become a pro by visiting the homepage! The "Join Our Service Pro Network" link is located in the top right corner. You will enter some basic info, verify your email address, and have the option to complete a background check. (Note: on the signup page, Service Pros have three different options to choose from.)

• Where do I include my license and insurance information?

  Your profile will have fields for you to fill out your license information and upload insurance documentation for customers to see.

• If I submit a bid on a project and the customer accepts my bid, do I have to complete the project?

  Yes, of course. Bids that are not serious will not be accepted. We may lower your rating or suspend your account if you do not complete the project after your bid is accepted. Let’s be true professionals.

• What happens if I connect with a customer on HomeSpruce and complete the financial transaction off the platform?

  It's fine! Be sure to submit project completion once the project is complete so that it gets added to your completed projects total and so that the customer and you can rate and review each other. Just remember, the more work you showcase on your profile, the more likely you are to win future work.

• Can you help me signup?

• What is a HomeSpruce Certified Pro?

  HomeSpruce helps the best home-service professionals stand out and win more jobs. When you become a HomeSpruce Certified Pro, a blue checkmark will appear next to your name every time you message or bid on a project. The only way to become a HomeSpruce Certified Pro is to apply. • What are HomeSpruce Badges?

  HomeSpruce Badges are awarded to pros who have completed many projects on the platform. Once you earn a badge, it will appear on your profile next to your name and will be displayed to customers every time you interact with them. You must complete 10 projects on HomeSpruce to earn a bronze badge. You receive a silver badge at 20 completed projects and a gold badge at 30 completed projects. Click here to learn more.

• What is a HomeSpruce Pro?

  The HomeSpruce Pro subscription service enables pros to bid on open projects in their area and communicate freely with homeowners. The annual fee is $139. In addition, subscribed pros receive a HomeSpruce Pro shield badge next to their name, and receive exclusive access to future features.

• What if I want to cancel my HomeSpruce Subscription?

  Subscriptions can be canceled at any time. If you do not cancel your subscription, it will automatically renew. The subscription must be canceled before it renews in order to avoid billing for the next period. No refunds are given for partial term cancellations.

• I want to subscribe to HomeSpruce Pro, but I am not sure if it is worth it. Is there a free trial?

  HomeSpruce Pro does not have a free trial, but you can sign up for HomeSpruce for free. You'll receive notifications when new projects are posted in your area once you sign up. If you're ready to subscribe, you can do so at any time. The only way to communicate with homeowners and connect on projects is to subscribe.
